Design Spiral
Yacht design is not a linear path but an evolving, iterative journey. It is an interactive process of exploration, refinement, and reassessment where each step builds upon the last. The designer begins with a series of informed assumptions and tests them against the requirements of performance, function, and aesthetics.
Rarely does the first attempt yield perfection. Instead, adjustments are made, alternatives explored, and solutions re-evaluated. This continuous cycle, often described as the design spiral, moves through every stage of the design process from concept to detailing before looping back to be reassessed with fresh precision.
